Job Title: Product Manager – Coating Systems

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Sales

Reports To: Director of Sales & Marketing

Position Summary:

The Product Manager – Coating Systems is responsible for leading the strategic direction, development, and market success of a specialized product line within the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector. This individual works cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to define the product vision, oversee the full product lifecycle, and ensure alignment with customer needs and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Vision:

Develop and refine the product roadmap based on market intelligence, customer feedback, and business goals. Align internal teams to execute product plans effectively.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Act as the primary liaison between engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure a unified understanding of product objectives and requirements.

Go-to-Market Execution:

Support marketing efforts by contributing to the development of promotional content such as brochures, case studies, and technical articles. Identify and evaluate advertising and trade show opportunities.

Market & Competitive Analysis:

Continuously monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings. Use insights to guide product enhancements and maintain competitive positioning.

Product Documentation:

Maintain accurate product specifications and ensure sales quoting tools reflect current equipment offerings and configurations.

Sales Support:

Provide technical expertise and support to sales teams during customer engagements. Assist with quoting and the development of tailored solutions.

Customer Engagement:

Manage relationships with key customers, identifying opportunities to support current accounts and develop new business.

Laboratory Oversight:

Coordinate lab operations and oversee customer trials to demonstrate product performance and value.

Additional Duties:

Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support overall team and organizational success.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

Minimum of 6 years of experience in product management, technical sales, or engineering within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries

Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, particularly solid oral dosage forms and coating technologies

Familiarity with regulatory standards including GMP, FDA, and EMA

Prior experience with capital equipment or process technologies in pharma is highly desirable

Skills & Competencies:

Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

High technical aptitude and the ability to communicate effectively with engineering and commercial teams

Proficiency in CRM and sales platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus, particularly for global customer interactions

Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement

Effective problem-solver with strong customer focus

Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

High level of integrity and commitment to delivering results

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
