Job Summary:
The Senior Electronics Technician will be part of a group of skilled electronics technicians involved in the component-level analysis, debug, and repair of electronic boards and assemblies. The responsibilities of this position start with performing functional or parametric testing of circuit boards. If faults are found, the technician then uses visual inspection, schematic analysis, or board level testing using DVMs, function generators, oscilloscopes, or other standard benchtop test equipment to isolate the fault to a given component. The technician then replaces the component using SMT or through-hole repair techniques and retests the board. Additional responsibilities also include working with the production teams to continuously improve production processes and working with the rest of the Engineering team to design and fabricate functional test equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform functional or parametric testing of electronic circuit boards or assemblies.
· Use schematic analysis combined with standard electronic test techniques to perform failure analysis and root cause determination to a component level.
· Perform component-level repair on these assemblies using both SMT and through-hole rework techniques.
· Assist the Engineering staff as necessary in the design, fabrication, or validation of new production test fixtures.
Required Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in component-level electronics debug and repair.
· Component-level circuit analysis and fault diagnosis skills.
· Excellent soldering skills.
· Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology, military electronics training, or equivalent education/experience.
· Ability to operate standard types of electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, DVMs, power supplies, function generators, hipot testers, etc.
· Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
· U.S. Citizenship
