Overview

• Plans, schedules and monitors inbound movement of materials from suppliers.
• Determines material requirements and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering.
• Develops specifications for new contract orders.
• This position requires knowledge that is acquired through experience, specialized education or training.
• The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making.
• The job requires a basic understanding of work routines and procedures in own discipline.
• The technical procedures for this level are well defined.
• The job works within well-defined procedures that may involve a variety of work routines.
• This job typically requires a minimum of 2 or more years experience.
• Fills requisitions for specialized or diversified line or apparatus.
• Draws on resources within the organization in order to meet the needs of the production cycle. Provides estimated product completion information.
• May be involved in schedule preparation and/or shipments. Sorts, posts and files inventory records and production schedules.
• Estimates and records production rates, prepares shop orders and reviews stock records to determine stock status against project requirements.
